Struggles for Cd-Key.

A few days ago, I had messed up my exe for starcraft and so I couldn’t get on b-net and play with Smoky and company. How did I do it? I installed a no-cd crack wrong and I pretty much fucked up my Starcraft. Now today, I went on a journey to find a cd-key grabber so I could get back my cd-key and re-install the game. So after about 3 hours of web searching. I found my redemption and now I can play Starcraft again. But this time, I’m not going to be stupid. In case of “mess up game by no-cd crack”, i have backed up all of my important files so that I don’t have to search for anything ever again.

isn’t it illegal to “no-cd” an .exe?

not if you have a legit cd key. And have actually bought the game like me.

I think it’s illegal to edit any .dll or .exe in a directory of a game. Editing your .exe to run without a CD means that multiple people can play it at the same time without the CD in, thus one copy of the game can be played by hundreds.
I understand that you have bought the game so this doesnt apply to you, but alot of people pirate games and software on p2p sites and the programs/games need a CD to be played; hence someone would create a non-cd .exe

I was bursting with laughter when I read this.. because the latest update for Starcraft makes it so you don’t need a CD anymore, go read the patch notes and follow the instructions.
