Rockband is dead, Long live GTA4!

Well my hopes and dreams have been a bit squashed of late as last week the European Rockband price was announced at nearly DOUBLE the price of the US, and whilst I could rant and bitch about the “crotch-kickingly unjustice” of it all, I prefer to cut it out of my gaming overview until it’s price has been reviews and reduced as the latest rumors indicate.

So this brings my attention onto GTA4 which is being released over here on the 29th, and I happen to have pre-ordered my copy already and now the excitement is building. It sounds like the attention to detail in the game is going to be incredible, and what’s more I have recently been told that Ricky Gervais is due to appear in the game, in one of Liberty citys Comedy Clubs. But it really looks very polished even down to the fact that Niko now smashes into the cars and hotwires them, instead of just opening the doors and driving off. On this point I recently tried to play a bit of San Andreas and wow it looks dated now, take a look below.

GTA3-4
GTA4 (Left). GTA San Adreas (Right)

And that screenshot really makes San Andreas look good, but playing it again was just so hard because it really looked bad and hasn’t dated well for me, the draw distance can be painful in areas, but I think one day It still deserves to be completed. Anyway.. GTA4 next week, me is excited.

I knew there was going to be a comedy club somewhere in the game with real comedians, but i didn’t know RICKY GERVAIS was going to be apart of it! My two favourite things come together - Grand Theft Auto + Ricky.

GTA4 will be using Rockstars own game engine RAGE (Rockstar’s Advance Game Engine) with NaturalMotions’ Euphoria engine ontop of that. With multiplayer of up to 16 players and about 15 game modes combined with the whole of Liberty City to explore, im sure Mayhem is ensured.

Love this game as much as you can as it might be the last authentic GTA title. EA has invested its interest in Take-two, the mother-company of Rockstar and all of the Rockstar studios…
